A max bid allows you to enter the highest amount you are willing to pay and the computer will automatically bid up to your max amount in the increments specified.
Bidding for these tracts will be based on TOTAL DOLLAR PER TRACT; lease price is not determined by individual acre. For example, if you are bidding $15,000 on a total track of 150 acres, this equates to $100/per acre.
Example 1, if the bid is at $15,000 and you if you put in your "high bid" of $20,000 you would be the highest bidder at $16,000, provided no one else has placed a higher bid, you would be the winner at $16,000.
Example 2, if the bid is at $15,000 and you bid $20,000 and someone else has placed a bid of $18,000 then your bid would be advanced to $19,000, and if the auction ends at $19,000 that is what you pay, not $20,000. It takes someone to bid against you to advance your bid just like a live auction
